Q. What font does Chicago require? I thought it was Times New Roman, but perhaps Arial is also okay?

Please see CMOS 2.9: “Unless a publisher specifies otherwise, authors should use a widely supported, legible Unicode font like Times New Roman, Calibri (or Aptos, Microsoft’s newer default font), or Arial, each of which offers broad support for special characters.” For Chicago-style student papers, see the paper-formatting appendix in Kate L.
